Payin' da bills

A few days ago we spent $176 on bills for a friend of ours who has been coming out to the potlucks for the last month or so.

It really helps her out a lot so thanks for making it possible.

Right now the only money in the purse is $400 that has been set aside specifically for a certain family, so now would be a good time to give I guess.

A dozen eggs

We bought a dozen eggs for a friend 1.38 bucks
we got 80 bucks minus 1.38 in the general purse as well as 400bucks set aside specifically for a certain family

Paying rent

Today we were able to pay a lady's rent in full. She's a new friend who's been coming to the potlucks for the last couple of weeks, a really sweet lady.

It was 72 bucks. It's cheap because she's on section 8 housing aka HUD. She had her lights and water turned off for awhile but she's been able to get that turned back on recently, so she's doing pretty good with all that!

Right now the only money we have in the purse is $400 that has been set aside for the needs of a specific money so there is no money in there for general needs. Thanks y'all for giving!

Mission Statement

To share wealth with those in need in our community in a simple, neighbor-to-neighbor fashion.

We are trying to believe in sharing wealth instead of hoarding up wealth, not in word but in deed. And this is one way we do it.

Gandhi said that there is enough for everyone's need, but not enough for everyone's greed. We are trying to respond to that in a small way.

Many of the people who we share money with are part of our potluck meal community at Neal Park as well as our Pilgrims in the Park church.

The money is to be shared for any need. All money spent is listed on this blog.

It's not in an organization's name because we don't have an official organization.

You can also give money directly to Dan. He promises not to steal it. It might not be optimal, but it's just a lot easier than starting a non-profit with positions and stuff. If you have any ideas of how to make this more better, please do share.

It's probably just as good or better just to directly help someone out, skipping over this fund. We have this fund because needs come up really often and this will help us meet those needs as they come up, since people often bring up their needs at the potlucks on the weekends.
